Alison Chenery Looses Title

The Miss England office, and the Miss Cheltenham competition organisers, have today asked Alison Chenery, the winner of last months grand final at The Boogie Lounge, to return her crown and sash. The organisers were shocked to hear that Alison did not show at the recent Miss England semi-finals at Champneys in Leicestershire on Monday 8th June.
For several reasons (detailed in the press release below) the crown, sash and title of Miss Chetlenham 2009 are to be given to the runner up: Victoria Ilina.
On Friday 12th June at the Queens Hotel, the Lord Mayor of Cheltenham, alongside the reigning Miss England, Laura Coleman, and the press, will be officially crowning Victoria Ilina as Miss Cheltenham 2009.

ALISON CHENERY wins Miss Cheltenham 2009 and wins a place in the Miss England Semi-final!
Alison, a 22 year old Project Manager from Cheltenham, will now compete with 59 other stunning beauties from across the country at the exclusive Champney’s Resort in Ashby-De-La-Zouch on Monday, June 8th in the hope of winning a place in the Miss England Grand Final being held at The Hilton Metropole Hotel, London on July 20th.

VICTORIA ILINA (pictured below right), a 22 year old Records Assistant from Cheltenham, won the public vote and qualifies for a place in the Miss Popularity contest, with a chance to go through to the Miss England Grand Final. Victoria was born with normal hearing, but become deaf at the age of 14 months after suffering with meningitis. She has taken part in beauty competitions before and was runner up in Miss Deaf UK in 2008.

The Miss Cheltenham final took place on the 28th May at The Boogie Lounge in Cheltenham. The six finalists were (left to right); STEF GLOVER, 18 from Cheltenham, VICTORIA ILINA, 22 from Cheltenham, TONI-LEIGH BURTON, 17 from Gloucester, CHARLOTTE COX, 22 from Cheltenham, ALEX WARBY 20 from Cheltenham and ALISON CHENERY, 22 from Cheltenham.
